A Health Teacher Motivates His Students To Learn About Alcoholic Symptoms, Symptoms Of Alcoholism, And Signs Of Alcoholism
Mr. Johnson was one of the health instructors at a small country community college in the Southern part of the U.S. For "Alcohol Awareness Month" he arrived at a decision that he would highlight the following three topics for a class project: the symptoms of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the signs of alcoholism.
After Mr. Johnson finalized the topics that would be allotted to his pupils, he made up his mind that he would present their assignment the following Monday morning. When "assignment day" finally arrived, Mr. Johnson met with the students in his class, handed out some pertinent information and facts, and then informed his pupils about the topics he selected.
He then gave his class an outline of some important signs of alcoholism and highlighted how vital it is to learn how to correlate these statistics, symptoms, and facts with the real-life situations of alcoholics. He then gave the members of his class a concise articulation about the significance of learning more about alcohol dependent people and how they perform their activities on a day-to-day basis.
Mr. Johnson told his class that they could isolate on one of the three topics or talk about all three topics and how they are interconnected. In essence this would be comparable to a general abstract but done in a more wide-ranging fashion.
Another alternative that he presented to his class was the following: choose a topic such as alcohol dependency symptoms and signs, dig into things more completely, and then discuss four or five symptoms and signs. Mr. Johnson then mentioned that the same logic applies to the other two topics, namely, the symptoms of alcoholism and alcoholic symptoms.
The end result of their research project would be a seven thousand word research project and then a thirty minute oral presentation that would be given in front of the class. As recognition for their outstanding scholarly achievement, the pupils with the top four overall grades on the research project and on the presentation will be encouraged to present the findings from their research at the regional drug and alcohol addiction conference during the last six days of April.
As stated by Mr. Johnson, because there are quite a few alcoholism symptoms and signs to choose from, he brought up the fact that he was not very fretful about more than one student choosing the same signs and symptoms for their class project. Certainly, even if more than one student was to decide upon the same symptoms and signs, the examples that are related to each sign or symptom would clearly add enough multiplicity to circumvent several students presenting the same content.
Mr. Johnson then mentioned that while there are numerous alcohol dependency signs and symptoms that could be selected, the variety of alcoholism statistics and facts that could be cataloged were almost limitless. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the conversation, additionally, the pupils grasped pretty quickly that the three topics would make available a substantial amount of material from which to choose.
Why did Mr. Johnson select the symptoms of alcoholism, the signs of alcoholism, and alcoholic symptoms as the topics for this project? Mr. Johnson thought that by augmenting the understanding of his students about the unhealthy consequences of alcohol addiction and the miserable lifestyles experienced by alcohol dependent individuals, his students might think more sensibly before they got caught up in abusive and excessive drinking behavior.
