Work was starting to be too hectic for a young police officer named Lonnie. After talking to his doctor about how his drinking was negatively affecting his work, health, relationship with his family, and his pocketbook, Lonnie grasped the fact that he was burning the candle at both ends with his hectic work hours and his irresponsible drinking. Once he grasped the fact that he was digging himself into a rut, after detoxification and with the assistance of his psychiatrist, and after three months in rehabilitation, he was at last able to stop drinking and quit working overtime.
